We all know that people love shopping for prices.

But what are the most sensitive price points? The thresholds which truly matter for consumers?

I’ve asked the question both to Google and to ahrefs, for a series of price points.

Here is first what you can learn from Google Trends:

As you can see on the graph, “under 100” is the most critical threshold for consumers, followed by “under 500”. We also notice a significant acceleration in (e-commerce) searches during the pandemicThe peaks in the different waves mostly happen in December, the #1 holiday gifting season. We don’t have the data yet for December 2020. For some reason we also see a peak in Feb/March 2010, mainly for the “under 100” and “under 200” waves. We also notice the constant increase in price sensitivity for all price points.

Here are the most popular queries for the “under 100” price point according to Google searches.
